Three Houthi anti-ship missiles that were about to be fired into the Southern Red Sea have been destroyed by US Navy ships in the Red Sea. The immediate threat to U.S. Navy ships and commerce boats in the area prompted the U.S. Central Command forces to launch the strikes. The U.S. Navy and commerce vessels needed to be safe in international seas, thus the action was taken in self-defense. USCENTCOM is the source.
